About

Cell Team is one of three technical projects sponsored by the UCLA chapter of the Biomedical Engineering Society. Our goal is to equip undergraduate students with the necessary skills to join a professional research lab.

Throughout the year, members of BMES Cell Team undergo a series of modules and lab activities where they learn and apply the fundamentals of wet-lab research. Topics range from Cell Culture to Western Blots and Immunostaining. At the end, students conduct an independent research project where they present their findings to faculty members and staff at the annual BMES Technical Projects Presentations.

With extensive preparation from our technnical project, many former members of BMES Cell Team have been able to successfully join a research lab within their first year at UCLA.
